Results from the Hunter School Presidential Straw Poll

On Thursday evening, December 13, 2007 the students of the Hunter School, Rumney NH. sponsored a special Presidential Election Straw Poll at the Senior Center in Plymouth NH. The students selected candidates to represent, made very creative visual displays supporting their candidates and gave speeches to the voters and support people in attendance about their favorite candidates. All of the candidate’s offices had been contacted prior to the event and many supported the students by sending support literature and many sent campaign Representatives. The weather on Thursday was not as supportive with a snowstorm taking place during the event. By the time the Straw Poll started there was several inches of snow on the ground and the road conditions were marginal at best. Due to the snow the voter turn out was less than expected but the voters that did show up were very enthusiastic and very supportive of all the hard work that the students put into this project.
